Humber Bay Park East Pavilion and Master Plan
On February 16, 2016, the City of Toronto Parks department and Councillor Mark Grimes held an information meeting on the future plan for Humber Bay Park East and the new pavilion that is planned to be constructed in the center of the park next to several ponds. Over 100 people attended the meeting at the Mimico Centennial Library.
Materials from the meeting are available on the City's website:
"The City is building a new, two-storey 12,000 square foot Pavilion within Humber Bay Park East that will complement the active and passive experience of the Park's natural environment. The Pavilion, a new community facility targeted to open in 2018, will be located near the ponds and next to existing vehicular access.
The Pavilion's exciting design includes a multi-use community space with flexible joined or partitioned spaces. Vistas onto the water and natural space will ensure this is a well-used community and park asset.
Some seasonal programming is being considered for the Pavilion including but not limited to summer camps, nature/eco programming, and wellness activities. Consultation is planned with local stakeholders, the public and local community to help inform the design, uses and programming of the Pavilion. The results of these consultations will be integrated into the Humber Bay Park Master Plan. The anticipated completion date is in 2018."

There is concern by community members with the current Master Plan and location of the Pavilion within this waterfront park as little consultation was given with respect to the location. A Petition is being circulated by a local resident.
