Please note that FOSS (Friends of Sam Smith Park), CCFEW (Citizens Concerned about the Future of the Etobicoke Waterfront) and LEGS (Lakeshore Environmental Gardening Society) have all endorsed the project and the working group's chosen location. We have also written letters of support for the proposal to Councillor Grimes.
The FOSS steering committee feels that the project would be not just a community asset but also very beneficial for bird populations. Ground gleaning birds love nothing better than to poke around in a seed filled garden area with delicious residue from vegetable and fruit cultivation!
