If you are a birder and Facebook user, Toronto Birding is a good group to follow. Many of their posts are about Sam Smith Park or Humber Bay. Here is a recent post plus photograph from Nancy Barrett ....
"A couple of us watched in awe as this beautiful girl suddenly made a
move for an unfortunate young male merganser that made the mistake of landing
on the ice in the owl's back yard. We thought we were about to witness a kill,
but she had blood on her talons, possibly from an earlier meal, and couldn't
really be bothered, overshooting and landing on the ice. I've never seen a duck
try to move so fast on ice in my life!
