The letter can be seen on this blog at WE NEED A VISION FOR THE POWER HOUSE
She replied to that letter late last week and more details about that will follow. A quick look at the concluding part of her response, quoted below, indicates that there is wide encouragement for looking at different, more compatible, ways of using that facility other than the one currently proposed by our Councillor and city staff and whatever else might follow if an active recreation/entertainment toehold is established in that building and surrounding, naturalized area.
"FOSS is a valued stakeholder in Etobicoke-Lakeshore and I am well aware of your organization's community-based mandate to protect, enhance and preserve the Lakeshore Grounds in South Etobicoke. I will be pleased to support such a proposal." Laurel Broten, MPP, Etobicoke-Lakeshore.

How is the provincial government involved in this? It's a municipal project, funded by the city. She can say whatever she wants when she has no responsibility.
Educational curriculum is a provincial matter, implementation is a local board issue. FOSS is currently in the process of communicating with the separate and public boards about this matter. Provincial support helps.
