There have been recent reports of up to three coyotes in the park. They have been seen all over, particularly on and around the island in the pond. In light of what's been happening in the east end with coyotes taking cats and small dogs, it is advisable to make sure your dog is leashed and kept close. If you live close by, you might also consider keeping your cat indoors. (These are actual photos of some of the coyotes, one with a fawn-coloured coat and the other near the island. They were recently taken by local residents.)
