EASTERN SCREECH OWL AND RAVENS

Birders in the park were delighted by the continual presence of an adult red morph, Eastern Screech Owl during the first week of May.

It was hoped that a mate would turn up and one of the park's owl nesting boxes would be used this year ..... but, sadly, he/she seems to have moved on.

Thanks to David Jackman for this wonderful photograph.

A pair of ravens has been recently observed carrying nesting material in to one of the park's fir trees. A couple of nesting attempts have been made in past years.

Check out this link to learn how to tell the difference between a raven and a crow.
