In this morning's mist, the two Red-necked Grebes were observed diving under one of the nesting platforms for weeds and arranging the material on the nesting platform.
Things are looking very good for this year.

Great to see that we might get it right this time thanks to Karen and her crew. What a beautiful way to celebrate Victoria Day a walk through our own neighbourhood, in our city, in our own Sam Smith Park, but feeling like a million miles away.. no traffic jams to fight, beaches, wildlife, picnics and so much more..What a way to live! We are so lucky.

I observed lots of mating yesterday afternoon.
So as long as vicious summer storms that wrecked last year's nests, stay away, we could be seeing some chicks this year!
